The shores of Lake Houston are the hot spot as the summer kicks off with the grand opening of the Pier at Kings Harbor and the Houston Boating Center’s boat show on June 6th and 7th. Boating enthusiasts will get a look at the Epic, as well as, the Larson and South Bay boats.
Visitors will be able to stroll along the lake and onto the pier as they enjoy Kings Harbor’s waterfront village. This free weekend event will feature live entertainment from The Edge, a high-energy Houston band, on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The weekend rounds up with the Riverbank Band, a mix of new and classic country and southern rock, on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The boat show hours are Saturday, noon to 6 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 4 p.m. Stay late or come early to dine along the lake at the Harbor’s fantastic restaurants, including, Raffa’s – an American Bistro, Chimichurri’s – a South American Grill, Sharky’s – a burger and seafood paradise, and Zammitti’s – authentic Italian cuisine. Don’t forget ice cream at Two Gems.
Construction of the pier is under way and expected to be completed by June 1st. The Pier will enable multiple boats to dock at Kings Harbor – providing boating patrons with the only multi-venue waterfront dining and shopping alternative on Lake Houston.
