The Pier at Kings Harbor opens with boat show & display

With the summer vacation fast approaching, Kings Harbor guests will have a new amenity to enjoy as well as new events.
Crews have already started work on The Pier at Kings Harbor which will allow for guests to dock their boats and enjoy a meal at one of the restaurants in the waterfront village.
In celebration of the finished boat dock, there will be a boat show hosted by the Houston Boating Center June 6 and 7.
“We received a number of e-mails from residents and patrons about the need and desire to have a boat dock. They wanted to have more options,” Connie Carey, marketing director for Midway Companies, said. “We investigated our options and decided this was a perfect addition to the great area we already have in Kings Harbor.”
The Pier at Kings Harbor will be located south of Chimichurri’s South American Grill and will stretch out on the river far enough where it will not be too shallow for most boats and watercraft.
The boat show will feature several different boats in and out of the water and accessories to go with boats. The displays will give those who are interested in purchasing a boat to use in the river in front of Kings Harbor or any other body of water this summer an idea of what they are looking for.
Boating enthusiasts will get a look at the Epic as well as the Larson and South Bay boats.
The boat dock will be open to anyone who is interested in dining at one of the Kings Harbor restaurants and guests who wish to attend the monthly music concert series.
“Since we started construction on The Pier at Kings Harbor, we have had a lot of people thanking us and very interested in being able to dock their boat at Kings Harbor,” Carey said. “Also, we have heard from several people that it is sometimes easier to get to the Kings Harbor area due to traffic and other problems.”
The boat show will serve as a kickoff for the pier and management hopes to have more events like the boat show and other water events as well as to continue hosting events and concerts.
The boat show will be free to anyone interested in joining in the fun to check out the boats and listen to music by The Edge on Saturday and the Riverbank band on Sunday.
The Pier at Kings Harbor is expected to be completed by June 1.
“We are very excited about the boat pier because this will allow for Kings Harbor to be accessible to more people,” Carey said.
“This will also give people who are out on the water more options if they get hungry or want refreshments while out on the water. The boat show will be a great way to kick off this new venture and amenity.”
