Raffa’s American Bistro will be the first full service dining facility to open in the new Kings Harbor development on Lake Houston.
Raffa’s will be owned and operated by Tony and Leslie Raffa of Amedeo’s Restaurant in Kingwood. Chef/Partner David Welch will maintain the duties of executive chef and general manager. Chef Welch is a graduate of the Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute in Paris, France where he was first in his class and was the recipient of the “Gran Diplome Le Cordon Bleu”. The Raffa’s have owned and operated Amedeo’s for twenty-one years, the last five of which Welch has held the reigns as Executive Chef. Together they have been the premiere restaurant and caterer in the Humble-Kingwood communities.
Raffa’s will feature American favorites with culinary influences from Europe, Asia, the Southwestern states, and fresh Gulf seafood. The original concept will have seating for 170 patrons and also have an additional 40 patio seats along the lake. The Award winning Bennett Design Group of Houston has been chosen to create an interior that will give the restaurant an unprecedented look in Northeast Houston. The interior will be spacious with high ceilings and 12 foot windows that overlook the water and the plaza. The design will feature an open kitchen that will energize the bar area, a wine room that will accommodate parties of twelve or less, and a private dining room that will seat up to fifty people. The bar area will also overlook the water, have seating for thirty six patrons, and have televised events for patrons entertainment. The facility will boast a non smoking environment.
